National Disaster Medical System News January 1, 2007 — The Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (S.3678), Title III, Section 301, provides for the transfer of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to the Department of Health and Human Services. Through the combined efforts of NDMS, HHS and DHS/FEMA, the National Disaster Medical System has effectively transitioned to HHS as of January 1, 2007.
